Charcoal Painting

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Charcoal has served humanity well over the years, providing fuel for cooking and heating. The technology worked on the barbecue, but as the owners  use the briquettes that give so much flavor. The other outcome of this material was its application in art. There are many mediums through which the artist can express his vision. Charcoal was used as long as anyone can remember. This black residue produces images that are very atmospheric and delicate. Drawing with charcoal is more popular, but many artists have found fantastic results in charcoal painting, both color and monochrome. It is a method that requires many skills and abilities.

Drawing in this environment includes preparatory drawings themselves into finished drawings or paintings. Vine charcoal is used for the development of sticks and charcoal is compressed powder mixed with gum binder that will serve as pencils and crayons. Powdered charcoal is used to cover the drawing paper and the tone of the scale.

One of the most unusual coming of the surrealist movement is the use of Parsemage, an automatic method invented by the British and surreal, Ithell Colquhoun. This form of charcoal painting involves taking coal dust or colored chalk and sprinkling on the surface of the water, then skimming with a rigid material such as cardboard. The result is usually an application of a fixative.

Many artists continue to interest in landscapes, portraits and abstract work by the charcoal painting. Rudolf Boogerman is a painter who works mainly in charcoal and pastels. He produced a series of photos of London, representative of former industrial sites and infrastructure in the capital. Charcoal images in shades of gray are moodily compelling.

Jorge Rodriguez has used the largest area in which the charcoal painting painting portraits in Sepia. They appear on the sides of large buildings in downtown Madrid, only to inevitably fade with the onslaught of wind and rain. Bj de Castro is another artist working in charcoal, the production of prints with powerful images that stretches like a gymnast or a horse in motion with a single tree in the background. Azucena Barrios is a Mexican artist who works in shades of gray and brown to produce montages with titles that include Still Life, a collage of autumn leaves and multiple thefts, an image of birds.

The Mama Sherry Company based in China, reproduced in prints selling charcoal painting on thick paper. They are sincere portraits of Chinese men, women and children in monochrome.

Discounted Art Supply

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

If you are an artist finding a  discounted art shop is a delight. That is, if you can find one. Art Supplies are generally expensive, especially if you’re looking for quality products that produce excellent results. Some discount art supply companies offer low prices, but you also make cheap equipment.

Quality items will cost more. That’s just the way it is. If you want to create pieces that last long then you can expect to pay top dollar for your supplies. However, you can get away paying less than you thought possible if you find a good discount art store.

The trick is to find the right place, which offers the best quality at the lowest prices. A good discount art supplies company will provide much information about products and they also have a special grand prize at the close. These sales are a must for an economical artist who needs to save money.

There is a slight drawback to buying through a final sale of discount art supplies company. Your selection is really limited. It is difficult to target some of these sales. You are almost limited to items that are for sale. That goes without saying, but it might be frustrating for a shopping experience.

I found that I fall on the products that I can really use the chance at the closing of these sales. The reduction in sales of art supplies are ideal for storing items you use a bit even if you do not have the time. Storage is an approach to obtain a collection of products.

Another disadvantage of closing the sales is that they are final. Make sure you use the items you buy. There is no return policy for most of these sales. The discount store art really wants to unload the product for almost nothing and not looking back.

If you’re willing to spend a little more, you can find almost anything you want or need in most discount stores art. Whether you are shopping online or in person, these stores have a lot of stock at prices lower than you thought possible. In fact, you may find that closing the sales are not needed after you do a little shopping.

Learn To Draw

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Many people think that drawing is a talent given to a handful of people and talent that can not be taught to the average Joe. However, anyone can learn to draw better than he ever imagined by following a few steps. The ability to draw well is a process and while you may not be able to create a masterpiece in the near future, you can learn to draw very well.

The design is an art that is practiced. I discovered that if you do not refine this skill and practice on a regular basis, you may lose part of your board. It is easier for some of us learn to draw than others, but no matter what, someone who will practice will get the best results.

Natural talent  can get only so far. When you learn to draw, learn to develop and maintain skills. If you do not exercise your skills, you will get a little out of shape. To return to your old art form is quite simple. You just need to practice the craft on a regular basis.

Part of how a person can learn is to draw and see things differently. The design is as much to see that it is on the way. Your perception is very valuable and it allows you to move forward the way you see the world of your work. After this, the next step is  to see things artistically.

Look rather the shapes as a whole. Many of us tend to see the whole face instead of the almond-shaped eyes and the way the cheeks in the form of growing majestic waves in front. When you learn to draw, learn to see the different forms in the form.

This might make more sense once you’ve started. Seeing forms in the forms quickly become a natural way to see your subjects, after a certain time. There is also the problem of how you see your own work. When you learn to draw, you will notice that some parts do not look just right, no matter what you do.

Simply turn the drawing upside down. This causes your brain to see the re-design without your “inner eye” to give a preconceived perception. The first thing when  you want to learn to draw is to obtain some form of education. This could be a video, a book or class or whatever that will  inspire you to start .
