History Of Art

Friday, December 19th, 2008

The development of various art movements over the years, is fascinating. Men have felt the need to speak, from the earliest drawings of animals on the walls of the cave. Art reflects society, the natural world and the human condition. It may not be all to everyone’s taste, but it is generally something that appeals to us about the history of art.

The first art concerned itself with the immediate vicinity; paintings of hunting parties and daily life. Later, religious paintings dominated, with performances of the great stories of the Bible and the crucifixion of Christ. The great artists of the Renaissance, like da Vinci, Michelangelo and Bernini were commissioned by the religious leaders of the day and we are left with a glorious heritage of their work.

Painting moved on to other subjects and landscapes and portraits were very popular. Masters of the form, such as Rembrandt and Vermeer. To date, the history of art has been concerned with an accurate representation of the world. This was to change, because artists are more stylish and put more emphasis on how they saw the world as an individual. John Constable is often cited as the beginning of modern art that we know today. J.M.W. Turner work grew increasingly abstract. Artists are beginning to experiment with color and form.

Cezanne and Monet opened the way for Impressionism, which is quite shocking to the public when it first appeared. Post-Impressionism of Van Gogh also shocked the world by the bold use of color and vigorous brushstrokes.

The 20th century saw many movements come and go, with most successful artists in their own lives. Art history can not be told without the inclusion of Pablo Picasso, which went through several phases. His contribution has been more controversial than Cubism, which repels and yet enthralls today. Surrealism is another movement, which made a big impact. This art is the result of the study of their dream world of artists and unconscious, are the main representatives Rene Magritte, Salvador Dali and Max Ernst.

The 1960s brought the Pop Art, as illustrated by Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns and Richard Hamilton. These artists paint every day and objects inspired by the world of advertising.

Art has come a long way since the cave paintings. In a sense we have come full circle in the history of art, given the minimalist painting of view today. Also included are art installations and video shows. I wonder what da Vinci would say about all this?

Glass was an integral part of arts and crafts for centuries. The old element is remarkably attractive. Although many artisans take up challenging projects that involve windows, others prefer something more manageable. Photo Enhancement

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

There was a time when you need anything done to your photos, you had to take a professional to get them corrected. Today you can make your own image improvement at home  on your computer. There are many photo editing programs then, and most of them can help you correct flaws photos and even restore old photos. There is no magic fix, of course, but you can get rid of some problems to make better pictures than ever.

One of the best things about the picture is improving the ability to get rid of red eye pictures. It is not perfect, but my software does a very good job of it. My camera has a red-eye reduction setting, but its use tends to delay the picture as far as the shots I want are long gone, after finally snaps the shutter. Instead of using this function, I want to use the photo and development to get rid of the red-eye effect. For most, the correction seems natural enough, even if it does not work on all photos. The “Cancel” button is great if something does not work.

You can also use the photo for improving fixing old photos that have faded or even torn . You can scan them in your computer and then work on them. Some features to improve photographs can clean up the scratches and make the image look more recent. It can help you cover small tears, it may also restore large pieces which is  missing . You can all sorts of things, but you have to try to find it. That is fine if you want to print photographs for the book project because you can make images of any size or shape you want. Simply print and cut the surplus.

Other possibilities for improving photographs are great for the shot that was almost perfect. You can crop the unwanted items, or even delete them. You can zoom in on a topic if you do not have the zoom on your camera. Photo enhancement has come a long way, and the latest software as you will find that you can do. You can take lots of photos on OK and turn them into something you may want to save forever. You may want to dig the old photos of years past to see what you can do with them.

Art Galleries Online

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

As an artist, there is simply no chance to get all the big break. The fact is that there are many different things you can do to attract the attention to your art. I’ve heard good things, but nothing is better than the online art gallery for the last two years, and I finally became interested. Although these art galleries online may have uses, they are not really the end all. In fact, for many kinds of art, online art gallery, are almost worthless. Let me explain.

The best use of an online art gallery is to display something that is either a painting, drawing, photograph, or a lithograph. For anything else, an online art gallery really many drawbacks. Even in painting, art galleries online do not really get the impression of the artwork. This will be flat, and texture of the work will not be painting line through the galleries. Once you get online in areas such as art galleries glass, the utility actually decreases. Of course, looking at a picture of a great work of art is always a good way to check if you can not see it in person, but in any case, except for photos and posters, in art galleries line really lose a large number of what is great about the original work. Therefore, online art galleries are flawed, even if they have certain uses.

Really, the best thing about online art gallery is not to get people to buy your works directly, but enough people interested to come to your gallery openings. Once they are there to see your work, you have a much better chance of making a sale, but, except for photographers, artists get a lot of online sales through their art galleries. This does not mean that artists should not take the time to set up art galleries online. Instead, they are cheap and easy to implement and can provide advertising next to nothing.

Picasso Painting

Monday, December 1st, 2008

There is nothing like seeing a painting by Picasso himself. There are thousands of paintings by Pablo Picasso, and only a few of them are well known. Nevertheless, each is a masterpiece. Even the most simple can not be fully re-created by reproduction. It is the goal of having the originals, after all. Whatever the quality of reproduction, something is lost in translation.

The reason I mention this is because of the popularity of paintings by Pablo Picasso of our day. It seems that every week I see another Picasso print to a friend. The problem is that the quality varies greatly, from reproduction to the other. Sometimes you will see a very good painting that captures Picasso in almost every detail. Others, however, are boring and weak, losing the luster of the original.

Therefore, if you want to buy prints of Picasso, you should go see original paintings by Picasso first. He had a very specific sensibility and style to him, even if you can not see the painting of Picasso, you are looking to buy a copy, you can get a pretty good idea of what it will look. After that, you can find art prints that correspond more closely to the spirit of the original. When you know what to look for, you’ll have a much better chance of finding something of quality.

The most famous painting by Picasso, not coincidentally, the most reproduced one is  Picasso’s Guernica. You see all reproductions on the site – from every college campus outside the building blocks. It depicts the horrors of war in a way that only the tortured mind of Pablo Picasso could. All forms are dispersed, painful, and disintegrated. Everything is chaos and terror.

Of course, just a taste of Picasso’s painting is not a guarantee that you will like the others. In many ways, it is  the strength of the artist. He crossed so many different eras, and his work in many different styles. A fan of some of his work can find each totally unrecognizable. Some of his works are simple ink drawings on paper, while others use more complex techniques of painting. I can not even imagine what it must be like for your own Pablo Picasso painting. If I had a few hundred thousand dollars to begin to resolve this problem, you can be sure that I would choose in a second!
